There's been much discussion among friends lately about spirit animals (or, according to some, they're called "power" animals). I've been pretty set on bison, your friendly western roaming pack animal, ever since last year's road trip out west. You can check out a photo here for evidence, and please ignore the fact that I may or may not resemble Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob films in the image. For better or worse, I've chosen the buffalo as my spirit animal, and I've got the bracelet to prove it. (Although, on second thought, given my penchant for sticking my head out the windows of moving cars, I may also have a kindred connection with big, fluffy dogs.)
ANYWAY, during a recent letterpress adventure, both Kal and I were drawn to pieces of funky, textured wooden type, which provided the focal point for our card creations. She's been doing these KILLER illustrations of spirit animals lately, so her message choice (shown above) made perfect sense.
I went with "WOO HOO" - a perfect sentiment for really any congratulatory event, don't you think? You gotta love a good woo hoo moment - whether you're celebrating a birthday, wedding, baby, graduation, new job, or even just that you made it out of bed on a Monday morning (believe me, the a.m. struggle is real and sometimes very serious).
(Keeping with the spirit animal theme, I obviously had to include an adorable lil' buffalo on the back!)
