Greetings from Vegas!
Things have been a little crazy lately, so I'm posting about me 'n Kal's latest letterpress adventure from Sin City, waiting for a delayed plane following a work conference (and looking a little rough around the edges, as over the years I've come to realize that work travel is not as glamorous as I always imagined it would be).
It's kinda weird, but I really love airports. Perhaps it's because growing up, flights were few and far between - and always for exciting reasons. So for me, the mere action of walking through the terminal feels like the beginning of a travel adventure.
Speaking of travel, it's something I've been trying to do more of this year - and I'm feeling pretty lucky that (with the help of some semi-intense budgeting and frequent flyer miles) I've got trips to Austin, New York, San Diego, Charlotte, and back to my home town of Ann Arbor still on the books for 2014 (speaking of which - if you have ideas for spots I've just gotta hit in any of those cities, pleeeaaaaasssseee let me know below. I'm way behind in my planning).
Travel and adventures have definitely been on the mind lately- which makes roommate Kali's latest letterpress print all the more fitting. For our second class, she chose to print a travel inspired bit from Hans Christian Anderson:
"To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,
to gain all while you give,
to roam the roads of lands remote,
to travel is to live."
I'm pretty much in love with her broadside (so it's convenient I live one room over) and if you are too, you're in luck! The print is for sale online in a limited run. Wood and metal type, orange ink, travel and quotes - what's not to love?
